Love the style. The sound of the boiling kettle is not overly loud. The lid occasionally sticks but overall I think it is great. This is the second time I have purchasd this kettle.

Unfortunately I’m disappointed of the quality. The lid doesn’t always open when pressing the top and the plastic part of the top is already coming off. I will be exchanging or returning. It feels flimsy and the bottom is already staining.
Failed Kyoto design ethos.

The functionality of the lid is extremely poor. It does not open automatically when the button is depressed. Multiple attempts are required for lid to open and success is erratic. The lid also inexplicably, frequently opens during boiling . This nicely designed product is not fit for purpose: visually appealing but functionally inadequate.
