Water logged bulbs, globes broke from heat

Poor quality for outdoors. I bought 2 sets and put one up around the garden using stakes. Within a week the first sign of light rain some of the bulbs filled with water and a few days later the heat from being on for half an hour caused the bulbs to blow or shatter. Find fragments of glass went throughout my garden. They were suspended so had not hit anything. It was mild winter weather so shouldn't have been affected by temperature. They are not fit for purpose as outdoor lighting. I will buy true commercial grade festoon lights next time.
